• Profile preferences: your chosen country, preferred language, favourite genres, and selected reviewers — used to personalise your experience.
• Usage data: films you view, searches you perform, and features you interact with, collected to improve the app.
• Device data: device type, operating system, and app version for technical support purposes.
• Communications: email address if you join our waitlist or contact us.

We do not collect payment card details directly. Any subscription payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store, which have their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Personalise your film discovery feed and recommendations.
• Provide localised streaming availability and cinema booking links.
• Send you service-related communications (account confirmations, security alerts).
• Improve app performance and fix technical issues.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

• Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for.

• Service providers: hosting, analytics, and infrastructure providers acting as data processors under our instruction. We require all processors to maintain adequate data protection standards.
• Third-party APIs: we query TMDb, OMDb, YouTube Data API, and regional streaming providers to display content information. Only non-identifiable query data (e.g., a film title or TMDb ID) is sent.
• Legal authorities: where required by Egyptian law or a valid court order.

6. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure may involve servers outside Egypt. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law requirements and, where applicable, GDPR standard contractual clauses.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it by law. Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Reel Talk is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Cookies and Tracking

Our website (reeltalkapp.net) may use essential cookies for session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our mobile application does not use cookies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-app notification. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
